Matriarchy, Survival, Strength

Blended photographic images (3) of my immediate female family members: Mother, sister, niece and me. 

This marks the continuation of a project started a while ago where photographic images of family members are overlapped and blurred to symbolise familial relationships, similarities, resemblance, aging and the passing of time. There are a number of connotations than can be drawn between water and in particular the sea and the constancy and strength of women. This has added relevance in the month that we have celebrated International Women’s Day.
